Caring for a parent, spouse, or family member can be challenging and may mean you need support from others. It's important to know when to ask for help, to find ways to cope, and to make keeping yourself healthy a priority!
You are not alone. The right support group can be a great place of comfort where you can talk to people who have been through similar situations and faced the challenges you’re facing. You can talk about how you’re feeling with people who understand. A good support group can be a network of friends to whom you can turn when you have questions or need help—and in turn, you can be there for them as well.
Caring for a family member demonstrates love and commitment and can be a very rewarding experience. Exhaustion, worry, inadequate resources, and continuous care demands are enormously stressful. Be sure to take care of you!
