Who We Are

A program of New River Valley Community Services, Community Transit (CT) serves individuals in the community who live with behavioral health, substance use, and developmental disability issues. Specifically, CT provides transportation to and from day support and treatment programs for clients of New River Valley Community Services. CT also provides nonemergency transportation to hospitals and doctor visits for individuals with Medicaid transportation funds.

Community Transit has a fleet of ten body-on-chassis buses and several mini-vans. All CT vehicles are disability accessible with wheelchair lifts and securement areas. All CT drivers are also trained in wheelchair securement procedures

The service area includes Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski Counties, and the City of Radford. Because resources are limited, Community Transit services should always be considered as a last resort in order to provide maximum ridership space for individuals who need transportation assistance.
