Who We Are
Eastern Shore Health District participates in the Every Woman's Life program, a public health program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health that helps uninsured, low-income women gain access to free breast cancer screening services. Screening and early detection reduce death rates and improve treatment options.
Mammography is an important preventive health procedure for women. For early detection of breast cancer, the best option is regular screening mammograms for women over the age of 40.
Call Every Woman's Life toll-free referral line at 866-EWL-4YOU (866-395-4968) to find your nearest screening location.
