Carilion Clinic Denistry offers the most advanced in-hospital dental care in the Roanoke Valley, including a pediatric dental program at our Children's Hospital. Carilion Clinic's dental care is a unique service providing specialized dentistry to patients with medical, physical and developmental disabilities.
The multi-disciplinary oral care specialist team is dedicated to the delivery of specialized dental care for patients with medical, physical, and developmental disabilities.
Specialized patients are referred by their physician or dentist to Carilion Clinic's dental care for oral evaluation and treatment due to an underlying medical condition, such as cancer, cardiovascular and renal disease, bleeding disorders, diabetes, and strokes.
Patients who use wheelchairs or are bedridden, those with prosthetic heart valves, and children and adults who are mentally disabled are also patients of this service.
