Who We Are

Fibromyalgia is a common condition characterized by widespread pain in joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. The overwhelming characteristic of fibromyalgia is long-standing, body-wide pain with defined tender points.  The cause of this disorder is unknown.

Treatment consists of managing symptoms to the greatest extent possible.  Because patients vary widely in their responses to available modalities, several approaches may need to be tried before a satisfactory regimen can be established.  For this reason, a multi-disciplinary, medical team approach has been developed by the staff of National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) Regional Rehab.  The goal is to provide a program that will help a patient feel better, improve their quality of life and the skills to manage their symptoms.

Treatment can include: physical therapy, manual therapy, myofascial release, biofeedback and relaxation training, stretching and aerobic exercise.

Bus Line: Metrobus, Subway Stop: Brookland/Redline.
