Who We Are

The Mecklenburg County Health Department participates in the Every Woman's Life program, a public health program sponsored by the Virginia Department of Health that helps uninsured, low income women gain access to the free cervical cancer screening services.  Screening and early detection reduce death rates and improve treatment options.

To be eligible, women must be a Virginia resident between the ages of 40-64, meet federal income guidelines and be uninsured.  Diagnostic testing is also available to eligible women between the ages of 18-39 who have symptoms of or are at high risk for breast or cervical cancer.

Call Every Woman's Life toll free referral line at 866-EWL-4YOU (866-395-4968) to find your nearest screening.
