Who We Are

Avalon provides an emergency 20-bed (and cribs) residential shelter for battered women and sexual assault victims.   Additional services provided are childcare for residents; case management; counseling; housing and employment resources; legal advocacy; and potential for transitional housing.  Women and children are able to stay for 30 days, which can be extended when necessary.

Emergency shelter is only available to adult female survivors and their dependent children (both male and female up to the age of 18) as long as they are enrolled in school.

If you would like more information or are in need of shelter, call the Avalon advocates at the 24-hour Helpline at 757-250-5051.
