Who We Are
Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) is a free counseling program for individuals age 60 and older and their families. VICAP helps individuals understand Medicare, Medicaid and medical bills. Assistance in exploring options related to Medicare D (prescription coverage), Medicare Supplemental Insurance, and Long Term Care insurance is also provided. Counseling can be provided by telephone or in person.
Also will assist eligible clients with filing insurance papers, understanding insurance policies and Medicare processes. Counselors receive special training and supervision on health insurance counseling issues. They are not connected with any insurance company nor are they licensed to sell insurance.
This program is contracted through Bay Aging.
