Victim Advocacy

The Victim Advocacy Program at Samaritan House connects families with the community resources they need to get the help they deserve. Most people aren't aware of the many supportive programs and services that are available to them right here in our community. Our Advocates can help them decide what they do need and how, when and where to get it. Our advocates help them coordinate this effort to offer our families the best, most effective and thorough support for each family.

You do not need to be in our shelter to use this service.

Samaritan House Victim Advocates also:

• Offer face-to-face crisis intervention and counseling
• Accompany victims to court to pursue civil and criminal charges
• Encourage the victim to attend our Survivor Support Groups
• Perform a Safety & Lethality Assessment with the client to help them figure out how much danger they and their children are facing
• Help the client develop a safety plan for each family member
