Who We Are

Samaritan House offers help to victims of domestic violence. Services can include safety planning and court assistance, shelter, and services to heal violence with counseling, support groups, children's programs and more.

Staff can help with housing options, legal advice, employment and more.  Aftercare services are also available for anyone completing shelter or a housing program. Aftercare is up to 6 months of follow up case management advocacy and support.

Smaritan House operates 12 residential emergency shelters, 2 apartment buildings, and 3 transitional houses. We serve about 110 persons each night; 65 percent of these are children. We work hard to do the most with what we have to offer; no family facing immediate danger is ever turned away.  Samaritan House is pleased to have received support from the City of Virginia Beach for it's Shelter Programs.
