How to Support Urban and Rural Trees in Virginia - Online Thursday, July 9, 3:00–4:00 pm The Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards (CATS) mission is to "support rural and urban forests and promote knowledge and understanding of the value of trees for present and future generations." Tree Steward Tim Maywalt will teach us how to identify, care for, and protect various trees, and will recommend trees to choose for planting in your own backyard. CATS projects include woodland restoration at Ivy Creek Nature Center by removing non-native invasive plants, creating and implementing Tree Steward training classes, and holding tree sales. There will be time for questions and discussion following Tim's presentation. Free and open to the community.
